Why should I buy a watch strap from Rebel Savant?
We take pride in our work and make sure that you are getting an amazing, one of kind piece at a fair price compared to others in the market. If you are just looking for something cheap, we are probably not your guy. But if you want something that is made right, and will be a conversation starter, then we would love to take your money.
How do you make your straps?
All of our straps are hand crafted in the USA using traditional techniques and only the finest materials sourced from qualified vendors in the US and around the world.
Can I get your straps wet?
These are leather products so you should avoid getting them wet. The occasional splash of water should not harm them however as with all leather products, color changes can take place if not cared for adequately.
How do I know what my wrist size is?
To measure your wrist , take a piece of string, strip of paper or other material that is flexible and wrap it around your wrist until it meets end to end and mark off the distance. Lay that material flat next to a ruler to get your measurement.
What sizes do you offer and what will fit my wrist?
Traditional Straps are offered in a standard length and a larger length.
Standard length straps will fit a wrist measuring approximately 6.5”-7.5” in circumference.
Large size straps will fit a wrist measuring approximately 7.5”-8.5” in circumference.
We currently provide straps that are 20, 22, and 24 millimeters wide at the lugs and these will fit a 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, or 24 millimeter wide lug dimension on your case. If you have a 19mm lug width, select a size up and get the 20mm wide strap. It will fit snugly at first but will loosen up over time and be perfect.
All traditional straps taper down 2 millimeters from the lugs to the end of the strap for example a 24mm wide strap tapers to 22mm at the buckle.
Nato Straps come in 20mm, 22mm, and 24mm wide options and will fit wrists that are approximately 5 ¾” -9” in diameter. Generally speaking this is a one size fits all kind of strap.
Please note that all measurements above are approximate and SHOULD from our experience allow for a correct fit.
What comes with a watch strap?
All Traditional style straps come standard with our custom, Rebel Savant buckle in a finish of your choice as well as your choice of standard or quick release spring bars.
Nato style straps come with our standard hardware attached.
Can I order custom size straps not offered on your website or request special materials and/or colors?
Yes, we are able to accommodate all of these requests on a case by case basis. Please contact us at email@example.com to get as creative with us as you wish.
What materials are available to choose from?
We carry a large inventory of various materials in many colors including fine bovine leathers from American, French and Italian tanneries, American Bison, Crocodile, Ostrich Shin, Teju Lizard, Alligator, Shark, Stingray among a few other interesting items. We may not always offer certain materials at all times and this will be reflected in our product selection area of the website.
Do you use hypoallergenic materials for your lining?
Yes, we use a chrome free Italian Lambskin lining for all of our straps. It’s also super soft and comfy.
Can you put my original buckle on my strap for me?
No, we supply all of our straps with our custom made Rebel Savant buckles on them. Please note that all of our straps taper down in length by 2 millimeters so your current buckle may not fit on our strap. Many original watch straps can taper down as much as 4 millimeters in some cases.
Do you make straps for deployant style clasps?
Sorry, we currently do not offer this style of strap right now.
How thick are the straps?
Our traditional straps are generally 2.0-2.5 mm thick at the edges and closer to 3.5-4.0 mm at the center due to the padding we use. We feel this thickness is ideal for any size of timepiece without being too thin on larger watches or too bulky on smaller watches. A lot of focus group time went into this.
Nato straps are 1.6-1.8mm thick and will generally fit all styles of timepieces that have standard lugs. If you have difficulty fitting our nato strap to your watch because the spring bar is too close to the case, send it back within 2 weeks of receipt for a full refund.
What is the lead time for my watch strap?
Please allow 3 weeks for all orders as we produce your strap at the time of purchase.
Do you ship outside of the U.S?
We will currently only ship cow or bison related leather products internationally. All exotics will only be shipped domestically due to CITES limitations currently making exports cost prohibitive. This may change in the future.
What is CITES?
CITES stands for the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna. This convention was first established in the 1960’s as an international agreement among governments that ensure that the international trade of exotic skins is ethical and does not threaten the animal’s survival or sustainability for the future. These programs have brought several species back from the brink of near extinction, provided jobs in rural communities around the world and given locals the ability to control and protect the habitats in which they reside. While some may disagree with the use of some of these species for food consumption and/or products such as fashion items, in most cases these species are now far more ethically treated than they were prior to CITES regulations having been implemented. The companies that utilize the products derived from these animals have been the driving force behind more and more robust ethical requirements in raising these species and nurturing a growing habitat.
